Penny Angels

For a long time I have been trying to find a way to help others and, although I volunteered on and off for different charities, it never felt like I was doing enough.

Then I remembered something. My grandmother used to keep a large jar in the entrance to her apartment. Anyone who came to visit had to look in their pockets for pennies and drop them in the jar. At the end of the year, she would have a party, we would count the pennies and the money was donated.

So I first called my friend Jeannie McGuire, who is the Founder and President of Project Unity, and asked her how we can use our pennies to help others. My main concern was that the money went to the neediest of families and after learning what Project Unity does, I knew that I had found the perfect place.

Penny Angels was formed!

Although my grandmother has been gone for a long time, I decided to take her lead and formulate a plan to do this on a larger scale.
